The Awesome Shepherd and His Incredible flock

NCC. 28 Apr 13
The Awesome Shepherd and His Incredible flock

When we see more of Jesus, we shall experience more of His grace and favor in our lives.

Peace-Perfect well being (AMP bible)

What is the most important picture of Jesus?

Ans: Picture of A shepherd and His flock.

Ps 23 and John 10:10-11.

The abundant life is to See Jesus as our shepherd.

"The Lord IS my shepherd." - that means we will never lack for anything in life.

"Makes me to lie down in green pasture" - rest and food.
One of the greatest need in the church is spiritual food. Pastors should be feeding and being patient with the flock.

Little love for others is because of little love for Jesus. How to solve this?
Ans: Increase your understanding of Jesus' love for you and you will love Jesus!

Depictions of Jesus in the Book of Song of Solomon:
1. Shepherd and His flock
2. King and His table - Communion (1:12).
3. Merchant man and His fragrance (ch.3).
4. Gardener and His garden (ch.4).
5. Bridegroom and His bride (ch.5).
-"As the bridegroom rejoices over His bride, so does Jesus rejoice over His bride."

Song of Solomon 1:7-8
Flock is hungry and in need of rest.
Jesus says to come to Him for rest (Matt 11:28-30).

Is 40:11 "He will tend his flock like a shepherd; he will gather the lambs in his arms; he will carry them in his bosom, and gently lead those that are with young."

-Ministry of feeding.
-Jesus is the bread of life. Bread comes from the root word for fight!
-The best way to fight the devil is the eat from the bread of life.
-That is why he prepares a table before us.

On positivity-
2 prisoners were lock behind bars, one saw mud and the other saw stars

Luke 11:11-13 "He loves to give good gifts -
Bread VS Stones.
Fish VS Snake.
Egg VS Scorpion.

3 good gifts from some sermons:
1. Bread - Systematic exposition on Jesus and His finished work that shows us our position in Christ
2. Fish - for practical application.
3. Egg - for meditate and incubate.

3 bad gifts from some sermons:
1. Stones - hurtful, dry, no nourishment, legalistic ministry. Pulpit is not for beating and feeding.
2. Snake - "mouth" poisonous doubts on God's words.
3. Scorpion - "tail" everything is good until the end.

It is not hard to share about some you love.
