Let Go and Let His supply flow

Sunday, 2 Sept 2012.

Holy means set apart. That we stand out when the rest of the world is stress, troubled and worried. It is not something outward but internal.

Law of first mention is important to find out a meaning of a word in the bible:

The first time holiness appeared is in the bible is in Gen 2:2-3. This holiness has got to do with rest. Rest is the holiest thing you can obtain.

7 miracles Jesus did on the sabbath(rest) day:
Examples
-Healing man completed flat on he back at pool of bethestha
-Healing of Peter's mum in law.
-Healing of woman bound 18 years of infirmity.
-Healing of man born blind.
-Healing of withered man's hand

Rest brings God's favor.

First mention of grace was in relation with rest:
Gen 6:8 'Noah found grace in the eyes of the Lord'
-Noah's name means rest. This shows how rest finds and brings grace.

Example: Christian who had insufficient funds and decided to have large postel blocks of the words 'LET GOD' around his hostel to remind him to trust God. But he came to a point of desperation and finally asked God how on earth does he let God? Then the wind blew and knocked off the letter block 'D' leaving the word LET GO.
Key:
Let Go and Let God. This has a picture of us being the sheep while He is the shepherd. Who is responsible for protecting the sheep getting attack from the bear? it is the shepherd who protects and provide for the sheep!
The bible says in Ps 23, ' the Lord is my shepherd, I shall not lack'
-when you let the Lord be your shepherd, you will not lack.
When we let Go and let God, we do not fall into idleness and uncertainty like the world BUTon the solid ground of God's love and His loving arms of grace.

Don't postpone your joy till the goal (whatever that is in your heart) is reached, enjoy the journey towards that goal, rest in the Lord and have a great time!

Heb 4:9-11
The only labor for the believer is to enter into God's rest. When God works, we cease from our works.

Only when we are at rest then we can enjoy the journey and perform best in what we do.

Eph 2:4-7 'He has raised us up together with Jesus and cause us to sit together with Him, which is from a position of rest.

This position we have we Jesus is far above all the power of Satan:
Eph 1:20-23, Jesus is seated far above all of that Satan is. All sickness, all pain and trouble! And the best part is that we are seated with Him!

So that means the devil and all his powers are underneath our feet because we are seated with Jesus.

So the devil will do all he can to get us out of the position of rest because he know grace flows when we are in that position.
NOW, whenever we face a symptom in our bodies or a struggle, a financial lack, we respond not in fear or worry BUT simple rest.
Similar for any pain, lack and challenges we face in our lives, we simply don't get stress and allow the devil to succeed in getting us out of rest. Remember God works best when we are at rest.
For every fresh problem, there needs to be a fresh sitting down and resting in the Lord =)

Example of Job. He suffered for 9 months. Job is a unique case. He desired a middle man to plead his cause and NOW we do have Jesus Christ who is our intercessor!

About Job and Unrest:
Jon 3:26. Job was very unrested... But the question is how he did he end up there? It is possibly because he continuously offer incense for his kids to be sure that they are covered for their sins! He held onto a good thing and turned it into a work.

Even prayer, bible studies and good things can become a work! So we need to let God work it out in us because it is His power that works in us and through us.

Sometimes we need to just stop reading our bibles or praying for a week and see that the Lord still blesses us, showing us we can rest because he is our shepherd to bless and protect us.

We don't pray for victory but from victory.

The devil will always come to you and ask you, what are you going to do about it? So our response should be to enter into his rest into deeper. The believer's greatest responsibility is to enter into his rest.

God can't when we hold on and he will not force us to let go.

The areas we are most concerned and stressed about are usually the areas you struggle with the most. So learn to rest especially in those areas and always remember God will see us through as we rest at heart in Him!

The devil will always try to bring into our lives stuff to worry and bother about. This is bringing an evil heart of worry and care which is contrary to the rest God wants us to have.
Heb 3:12 'evil heart of unbelief'
-'evil' is a heart full of labors, annoyances as defined in the Greek dictionary.

Sometimes the deliverance and breakthrough might not happen fast but take heart! We shall never be put to shame because those who trust in the Lord shall never be put to shame. (Ps 25:3)

Example of Jesus telling the disciples that they are to go over the other side. But they faced a storm instead. They did not remember what Jesus spoke about bringing them over the other side and how he will bring it to pass no matter what happened in between. Jesus woke up, calmed the storm on the outside before He calmed the storm on the inside of his disciple's heart.
-The faith(author and finisher of our faith) is in the boat (in the very circumstances we are facing). We can rest in the faith of Jesus to lead is into God's grace.

This rest is not inactivity on the outside BUT rest on the inside that leads us to perform without stress on the outside.

This rest is not an outward activity that leads to stress and bondage but an inward attitude that leads us to true freedom!

Bible example of Jesus on rest!
Matt 6:25-33 -
worry not about your life, relax, worry not about tomorrow!
-When we are worried, let go and let God.

Matt 11:28 ' Jesus said come unto me and I will give you rest'

Out of all things, Jesus said he will give rest to those who come to Him. True holiness and grace is found in the rest of God!

When u are not at rest, you are in unbelief. So let us labor for just one thing this week - rest! let go and let God.
