How the Grace of God changes lives!

Col Stringer+Ben's input. 9 Sept 2012.

How the Grace of God changes lives!

1. The grace of God is rooted in the gospel of Christ.

Rom 1:16
'Not ashamed of the gospel of Christ that brings salvation..'
This salvation is more than just saving from hell but healing, deliverance and financial breakthroughs. A wholesome saving from the inside out.

2. The grace of God cannot be earned but simply received.

-those who have the perception that they can perform better or do good works to earn God's liking and favor will have a hard time experiencing and understanding God'a grace.
There is nothing u do that can make God love u more or less. He loves u the same, just the way you are. As soon as you realize that, then you will be able to experience the love of God like never before!

Gal 1:6-7
'There is another gospel of Christ'
Another gospel that that demands, condemns and promotes works based religion. Don't be deceive, simply receive the grace of God.

Abundance of God's gospel of grace.
Rom 5:7 'much more'
'receive' - the grace is something to be received not earned.
There is a way to frustrate the grace of God which is to try to earn, merit and work for it.

3. The grace of God reaches out and cares for the unkind and evil.
- Don't underestimate or cheapen God's grace especially when dealing with others. God is far more than able to show unmerited grace and change the person's life no matter how bad she/he is.

4. The grace of God helps us to change our minds, which will eventually change our lives!

How does this unconditional love/goodness work?
Rom 2:4. God's words says it is the GOODNESS of God that leads us to repentance which is to change our minds and lives. It is not the judgment or condemnation of God that leads us to change our minds and ultimately our lives. It is the unconditional goodness of God that leads us to repentance.

5. The grace of God is the source of supply that helps us not to worry about our every cares and needs.

-Matt 6:31-33
'God simply wants to seek His Kingdom and righteousness - that is Jesus! in whom all righteousness and the kingdom of God is found.

6. The grace of God helps us align our priorities to keep Jesus at the center of it all
-Luke 10:38-42. Working/busy Martha VS Receiving/resting Mary.
-Jesus is to be center of our lives, work, family, finances and health.
If we are focusing on the Lord, our trust will always be in Him and receiving from Him.
-Jesus will not force us to invite Him into our needy situations. He is a gentleman who can't wait for us to look to Him and invite Him into our situations for deliverance and help.
-Unlike Martha, who was concerned about many things; let's learn to focus on one thing which is inviting Jesus and receiving His help in every area of our lives and in the decision making process regarding our work, finances, family and relationships!

7. The grace of God helps us to have more faith in His grace than more faith in our own faith.
-it not about how big our faith is but how big our faithful God is! Remember faith as small as a seed can move mountains(Jesus said that) because we have a big God who is the author and finisher of our faith.

8. The grace of God helps us to remember that every blessing that we experience is based on what Jesus has done for us and not what we do or how well we perform or do not perform.

9. The grace of God delights in abundance to provide for the very areas of lack, crisis and struggles we have our every day lives. This could be finances, family, marriage, work etc.

John 21:1-6
-the disciples were fishing but caught nothing and Jesus comes to help them catch an abundance of fishes.
This shows the grace of God blesses people in their very area of work far above our expectation, what we ask or think.

10. The grace of God is one filled with the rest that brings peace.
Heb 4:8-11
-The only labor we have in this Christian life is to work for rest.
-This rest comes as we change our minds about how God views us and wants to bless, protect and love us!
-Rest comes when u know how much God cares for every thing in your life and has got your back in all challenges of life.

We confess God's word not to attain something but because we already believe that we possess what God has given us.

11. The grace of God helps us to be strong and accomplish things we never believe we have before!
-Phil 4:13 'i can do all things through Christ who strengthens me'
-Image of eagles rising above the storm when they lock their winds of faith.
