On my Heart...
Pressing Toward the Goal
Phil 3
12Not that I have already attained, or am already perfected; but I press on, that I may lay hold of that for which Christ Jesus has also laid hold of me. 13Brethren, I do not count myself to have apprehended; but one thing I do, forgetting those things which are behind and reaching forward to those things which are ahead, 14I press toward the goal for the prize of the upward call of God in Christ Jesus.
Now as we are back in our battling grounds, lets strive and fight for Christ! The verses above are reminders for us to press on. Leave june, children and youth camp behind and look forward, move, grow and press on! I have experienced and can surely say that it feels just weird and somewhat abnormal as we go back to school. It's obvious why this is so since we all have been so involved in Christian followship practically the whole of last month. NOW, it's the time for the test! Go back into the world, live out our Faith. All the commitments and recommitments are useless if we don't know how we should go about doing it. Equip yourselves with a good start before u begin doing anything- dwell in God's presence, go to Him in brokenness acknowledging that without Him u are nothing. If it means waking up 30 mins earlier, do it! On the bus, on the way, just be still and go into His presence. Don't ever start a day without any form of communiciation with the Giver of Life. Thank Him for the wonderfully morning(that we all take forgranted; Just look at the trees, the amazing sky beholding His glory =)) and ask Him to make u sensitive to His working. Someone who u talk to later could be someone who u can share Christ with, be watchful and tactful in all ur actions n words! Let me share and relate a little of my life to this. In Jc, I used to tell myself "no breakfast" until i get my 1st taste of bread from the source of Life, our Lord. So my homemade bread will not be eaten until I am ready. hee and it really taste better after having the 1st from God! Apart from that, my quiet time eats into assembly too, haha i know that is quite funny but seriously, although I am there physically(sometimes with the school song playing), my mind is in prayer with the Lord. This is because I know that is what i need before I start the day off =) It is most vital because we need DAILY guidance and leading by the Holy Spirit. U know the song 'Day by Day'? wondered why is it not 'month by month' or 'week by week'? Well, think about it. Our time alone with God each day is to keep our focus on Him and nothing esle. Time spent with God is for strength, for hope, for joy, for satisfaction in God and God alone. It will not come naturally, in fact if u think that way, then the devil has got the better of u. It's our constant, conscious effort of abiding in Christ, longing for His approval and His leading in ALL that we do. Normally, if u think u are alright, that is when u are not! So be aware, don't let the devil deceive u. Stick close to God. The devil will show u that ur worldly friends without God are living a "somewhat" more fun, interesting, fulfilling and a life more worth having. Hey, but don't be deceived! They are seeking satisfaction in creations(things that will pass away) and not the Creator, our Father! Remember it's most important to please God. Check ourselves that we cleanse our hands and purify our hearts, then God can work in our lives!
Our God is more than enough!
Remember:
~No man that seeketh after things of this life,
is a soldier who passes the test. (from May the Lord find us Faithful)
~2 Tim 2:4 No one engaged in warfare entangles himself with the affairs of this life, that he may please him who enlisted him as a soldier.
Ok, that is my sharing for today. I have lots more to but i don't want u all to find me long-winded and somehow reduce the effectiveness and meaning of the the words u read.
I will be praying for u all, my dear youth community!
It has always be edifying and encouraging sharing.
Praise the Lord for He saved our wretched lives and indeed, is All that we need!
I will end with this verse as my exhortation and prayer as we seek to please the Lord in our own lives, no matter where we are!
I, therefore, the prisoner of the Lord, beseech you to walk worthy of the calling with which you were called, with all lowliness and gentleness, with longsuffering, bearing with one another in love, endeavoring to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace. There is one body and one Spirit, just as you were called in one hope of your calling; one Lord, one faith, one baptism; one God and Father of all, who is above all, and through all, and in you all.
Eph 4:1-6
If u don't have any agenda for reading the Bible,
Memorize, Analyse and Personalize Isa 55 =)
